The mission of MLNC is to organize and deliver to its member
libraries and other contracting entities OCLC-based information
services, related electronic services and content, and training in the
management and use of information.
Membership is required to obtain any "on-going" service from MLNC,
such as online reference databases. Membership is not required for
attendance at MLNC workshops or to use MLNC as your OCLC billing
partner.
The membership of MLNC is composed of libraries, information centers
and library consortia that promote and aid the purposes of MLNC, agree
to abide by the MLNC bylaws and pay the approved dues as established by
the Board of Directors.
For FY2012 the membership dues are $125.00.
Membership includes:
- Full participation in MLNC governance and meetings;
- The right to influence MLNC’s future by running for Board
positions, serving on committees and participating in other
governance activities;
- Workshop registration at the discounted member rate;
- Eligibility for discounted subscriptions to high-quality online
reference databases;
- Eligibility for discounted library supplies from selected
vendors;
- Access to MLNC’s Custom Cataloging service.
MLNC is governed by an eleven member Board of Directors. The MLNC
Board provides input to the MLNC leadership in issues such as pricing,
new strategic directions, projects and staffing.
