NetLibrary eBooks

MLNC would like to thank all of our member libraries who have joined our
shared collections. New orders cannot be accepted for closed
collections. If your library joined
a shared collection you will continue to have ongoing access to the eBooks
in the collection regardless of whether or not you join in new shared

- Access to eBooks is based on IP recognition for the computers in
your library or remotely via your library's proxy server.
- If a patron creates their NetLibrary account in your library, then
they can use their account on their home computer to access the
eBooks.
- Patrons can view and use an eBook as long as they turn pages
actively. If they are inactive for a period of 15 minutes or more,
they book will be returned to the system.
- If an eBook is in use, your patrons can receive an e-mail
notification when the book is returned and available for use.
- If you load the MARC records for the collection into your
circulation system, your patrons may be able to link to the text of an eBook
right from your catalog. (Your catalog must support hyperlinks in
the 856 field of the MARC record.)
- If your library has access to WorldCat (OCLC's union catalog) on
the OCLC FirstSearch
service, your patrons can find your library's
eBooks and link to the book directly from FirstSearch.
