Using the OCLC Authority File



Effective use of the OCLC authority file can improve the accuracy of
catalog records and ultimately enhance access for your library users.
Topics in this hands-on workshop will include:
- Analyzing name, title, and subject MARC authority records
- Searching the OCLC authority file in Connexion client
- Linking name and subject headings in bibliographic records to
authority records
Examples and exercises will be based on the OCLC Connexion client
interface, but they are also applicable to the Connexion browser
interface.
